Pattaya is known globally for its vibrant energy, beautiful beaches, and welcoming atmosphere. As residents and visitors, we all share a responsibility to ensure our community remains a safe and healthy place for everyone. That's why Pattaya Memorial Hospital is incredibly proud to announce our new collaborative initiative: providing essential Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training in partnership with the esteemed Tourist Police.

This partnership underscores our shared commitment to public safety and empowering individuals with the skills to act decisively in an emergency.

Why is this partnership so vital for Pattaya?

In any medical emergency, especially when someone collapses or stops breathing, every second counts. The first few minutes are critical for survival and can significantly impact the outcome. While professional medical help is always on the way, the actions taken by bystanders in those crucial moments can be the difference between life and death.

By equipping the Tourist Police – who are often the first responders at tourist-heavy locations and in public areas – with advanced CPR knowledge, we are strengthening the immediate safety net for everyone in Pattaya. Furthermore, our goal is to extend this essential training to as many community members as possible.

What will this initiative cover?

Our collaborative training sessions will focus on fundamental life-saving techniques, including:

  • Recognizing a Medical Emergency: How to quickly assess a situation and identify when CPR might be needed.
  • Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Hands-on training on effective chest compressions and rescue breaths for adults, children, and infants.
  • Choking Response: Techniques for helping someone who is choking.
  • Calling for Help: Emphasizing the importance of immediately contacting emergency services (191 in Thailand).

These practical, hands-on sessions are designed to build confidence and ensure participants can apply these skills effectively when faced with a real-life emergency.

Empowering Our Community, Together

This joint effort with the Tourist Police is more than just training; it's about building a stronger, safer, and more resilient Pattaya. When more people know how to perform CPR, our entire community benefits. It means faster intervention for sudden cardiac arrest, better outcomes for accident victims, and a greater sense of security for all.

Pattaya Memorial Hospital is committed to leading the way in comprehensive healthcare, which extends beyond our hospital walls into the heart of our community. We believe that by fostering these essential life-saving skills, we are helping to create a healthier and safer environment for both our local residents and the millions of tourists who visit our beautiful city each year.
